April is the Bridges Science teacher, earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 2005 from Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. She has taught in many different schools over the last 8 years and is about to enter her 9th year of teaching. She comes to teaching as a second career. Her first was in Retail Management for high-end clothing and furniture.
April has a passion for teaching students to find their passion for learning. Her greatest days of teaching are when students have found new confidence in their learning and accomplished their goals of raising their grades and standardized test scores. She also prefers to call them scholars, not students, since that is what they are.
April has been married to the same man for over 24 years, and looks forward to 20 more! She has two sons, one entering college, and one is a senior in high school. They are her pride and joy!
April’s hobbies include swimming, home re-modeling, movie watching, reading long books, exploring new restaurants, celebrating minor holiday’s like Talk Like a Pirate Day, and volunteering her time on the tech team at her church. Lastly, her favorite foods are anything Asian, Italian, American, Mexican, and German.
April is very excited to be part of the Hillcrest staff for the 5th year in a row.
